Starting up an Art Website
Starting up a new website to show and sell JC Barber Artworks has been an exciting mission & a good learning curve. One step at a time with the goal being to share & sell at JC Barber Art.
Painting with oil paints on canvas for over 30 years Jennifer has painted a couple of hundred or more artworks of varying sizes, shapes, and subject matters. The majority of these remaining unseen & stacked up somewhere, with a few sold over the years.
Also a mother from young age, single for most of the parenting & with not a lot of income, Jennifer could not get out to socialize much but always painting at home meant always achieving and creating something new! Painting became an ambitious project.
Naturally the next step is how to start sharing showing and selling!.

With the exception of a few local library art exhibitions around the time of the millennium 1999-2001, and a couple of art and craft stalls, there is no other art background, qualification, or art social networking. It is often said & noted that to share your art background is a necessary thing to do, while understanding this is for a social verification & validity, there isi simply not much there!. There are obviously many options to go out and do this, an event, exhibition, art fairs.. It is not an easy hurdle if you’re starting from nothing but the beautiful creations!. Of course any online reviews and comments will also help for the internet artist trust too!
Social media started for Jennifer in 2016 on a Facebook page and on Instagram, and was active on them up until 2020, around covid time!. With a lot going on , some personal matters, and the oftentimes frustrating side of social media, some rest time was needed!, only continuing to paint now and then at a more fun relaxed pace. Also taking up doing hand painting wooden boxes, and gradually starting a new collection of paintings.
Now with a new website, and J C Barber Art ( previously named Jennifer Barber Fine Art, that’s another blog there ) being active once again on social media from summer this year, there will be more exciting updates and collections, maybe there is a need for an event, an exhibition or art fair stall? Maybe approaching the art publishers?, or perhaps check out local galleries for space.
